Getting into the holiday spirit

We put up our few Christmas decorations this afternoon. Our tiny tree is all decked out!

We do have a few other decorations around the ol' apartment, but not many. We even have some lights in our window.

Waymond is finalizing our Christmas Card list. We are trying to keep it to a minimum this year. No hard feelings if you don't find one in you mailbox!

Hello Cupcake

As if we haven't had enough dessert in the last week, we went to Hello Cupcake today for a coffee, tea and cupcake. Well, Waymond went only for the coffee and because I wanted a coconut cupcake. Here's a pic of me enjoying the last of my cupcake!

Our camera ran out of battery or I would have taken a picture of all their lovely cupcakes. Maybe next time!

Thanksgiving

We celebrated Thanksgiving yesterday with some friends; mostly friends who don't have family close. We met with all our food at our church building. It's a bit bigger than any of our houses. Waymond & I made our first turkey. It turned out great! Here's a photo of the golden bird.
The Swarthout family was there and apparently their youngest, Mia, thought she was in charge of table decorations because she was all over getting the candles out and getting them on the table. Mia was not in charge of lighting them!

Waymond brought his Play Station and we set it up to the projector we use on Sundays. I think the guys really enjoyed the life size video game experience.

Our friend Nick (the one in the blue sweatshirt) brought a friend from school who is from Togo. I'm not sure he really understood the fact that you are "suppose to" eat a ridiculous amount of food and then watch TV or play video games and then eat dessert. I'm not sure he was a big fan of turkey either, but I think he had a good time. What's funny is that really only 4 or 5 of us grew up in America and the whole day seemed normal.

Since we brought the turkey Waymond was in charge of carving it. He's been practicing on chickens I've roasted for dinner or rotisserie chickens we've picked up. Tacoma puts out this free magazine called City Arts and this month's issue had the coolest diagram on how to carve a turkey. Waymond's been using it.

We also made 3 desserts. Waymond is doing his part with the leftovers and had some pumpkin dessert for breakfast this morning. He told me someone had to eat it.

Today we plan on not doing much. We both have the day off and are looking forward to relaxing. I'm not sure how my parents do Thanksgiving dinner every year. It's a lot of work!! And we just made a turkey, 3 desserts and bought cranberry sauce. Waymond insisted on getting the canned version of cranberry sauce, apparently it's his favorite. Who knew?

Mr. Test Kitchen

Waymond, our friend Annie and I went to Bothel (Northish of Seattle a bit) this evening to hear Christopher Kimball, from Americas Test Kitchen and Cook's Illustrated, speak. I just bought the baking cookbook and brought it for him to sign. Very exciting!! Waymond snapped a photo on his camera. It was all very exciting! Probably more exciting than meeting a movie star!

Office Dog

So, I found out why our office dog is named Spigot. Apparently it is her mother & father's name put together. Next I'll find out what those names are. Waymond has come up with a few possibilities. I'll spare you!

I love this

Our sales team was out looking at a house to do an estimate and on the way back to the office they took this picture! I wish I had an out of service sign for my forehead!

If we were on "The Simpsons"

Waymond found this website that lets you see what you would look like as a Simpson character. This is us! Apparently, Waymond is a much cooler character than I.

The site is www.simpsonizeme.com/ Check it out!

Going Gray

I was just noticing how the gray in Waymond's beard shows up even in pictures. I'm not sure if it's wisdom or stress!

Way's Art Blog

Waymond has a new blog he's posting some of his art on. He's really LOVING class. I think this has been the best move for him. www.waymondhampton.blogspot.com

He'll try to update it as much as possible, but full time work, class and planting a church takes up most of his time.

Waymond's been growing a beard since his vacation. He looks happy doesn't he. We went to Whidbey Island last weekend for a leader's and wives retreat. We had a fun time, but didn't sleep as much as we would have liked. We have a Newfrontier's church on Whidbey Island and one of the ladies in the church has a beautiful house with plenty of room. We held the retreat there and most of us stayed there too. We stayed in a big room with our friends Brad and Becky. They have the cutest son. He's probably the most liked and popular person in our church. He's the most laid by child I've ever met and he seems to love everyone. We had a great time.
