Happy Halloween

The boys carved a great pumpkin with Waymond.

Ermias slowly decorated our front window with hanging bats, spiders (plastic & paper), webs
a scary face, ghosts and a couple of pumpkins.

Lillie was going as an 1980's aerobics instructor (she has lots of leg warmers)
and I made a boom-box out of felt for her to chew on.
In the end she stayed home with me, she wasn't feeling well today.
She'll chew on the boom-box post halloween.

The boys dressed as ninjas, but I didn't get pictures.
Waymond put their outfits together and they were amazing!

Masterpiece

I bought a bunch of opened packs of pipe cleaners at a garage sale for $.25, and while looking for something else Ermias ran across them. He's been working on this masterpiece for two days. It was hanging from the fire place, but it got a little heavy for the tape he used to hang it. It's a Christmas decoration and Lillie REALLY wants to eat it or at least taste it!
Best quarter I've spent, and he has more pipe cleaners left.

All three

They are all growing so fast! I took a couple of pictures this morning
before the boys headed out for school.

Walking

The boys really like to get Lillie up and about; I don't think they understand how their lives will change once Lillie is fully mobile!

Jedi training

A little training before school this morning!

The force is strong in this one...

Lillie has found the boys' light sabers that attach to our Wii remotes and she has taken them as her own. At first she chewed on them, now she swings them around. I'm guessing she has seen the boys do this so many times with other light sabers or she's a natural youngling!

Standing

There's no doubt that Lillie loves her brothers (we are trying to teacher her to say Bubba). But, her brothers love her back. Her favorite thing right now is to stand and her brothers are more than eager to help her. I keep trying to tell them that when she starts walking she'll be getting into their stuff more than ever. I think they just want to make her happy and helping her stand makes her happy!

Isayas & Lillie

Isayas was taking videos of Lillie with his camera and then showing
them to her. She was very interested. And wanted to touch the camera.
Lillie squeals with delight when she sees Isayas after school.

Artwork

Isayas did this at school last week. After he handed it to me and I read it he said, "I forgot to say sleeps, too." I'm not sure if you can see well, but Lillie has tears running down her face. And to be honest, Lillie cries at nap times when her brothers are home (the weekends). If it's just me and her she just goes down to sleep, but if she has to leave her brothers to take a nap, then she cries for a little bit. They are more exciting than I am, which doesn't surprise me!

Headbands

We've been trying out a few headbands that have been given to us. Lillie looks adorable, but I think she got her Papa Jerry's ears! A headband only makes them look like they are sticking our further!

Daddy time

Lillie really likes to stand up.

And, she loves her daddy!

A little crawl

This is how Lillie has been crawling recently. She still hasn't figured out that she can get on her knees, but her toes do get her to where she wants to go just slowly.

9 months

Yesterday Lillie turned 9 months old (can you even believe it)! No crawling yet (which I'm not disappointed about), but lots of movement! Her favorite thing is to be on the floor with her brothers. And, if someone is helping her stand then it is her absolute favorite!
This is her "stop trying to get me to like peas" face. I keep sneaking them in with other things, but she's still not a lover of them yet. I think it's more a texture than a taste. I should try to puree them a bit more and then mix them in. I was hoping she would have my taste for food, but not quite yet!
Lillie and Ermias making a little music together.
This is usually her normal position while I'm trying to feed her and her brothers are not at the table. They are WAY more interesting than food or me!
More music with the brothers.

Conversations

We ran an errand after school today. While we were driving I reminded the boys that a friend was going to come over in the evening to watch them for a little bit. Here is a snippet of our conversation:

Me, "She will make sure you have all your homework done, pjs on and teeth brushed and then you can watch something on Netflix."
Ermias, "Can we watch Power Rangers?"
Me, "I haven't seen them before. I need to check it out first, so not tonight."
Isayas, "So, we will have to tell Erin what is ok for us to watch?"
Me, "I'll give her or you guys a couple of options to pick from."
Ermias, "But, we won't be able to watch the real Thor movie, right? Not the one daddy watches."
Me, "I don't think daddy has seen the real Thor movie."
Isayas, "Maybe we have a rat living at the house that comes out at night and watches it on Netflix."
Me, "I hope we don't have a rat living at our house!"
Ermias, "That would be funny if we did have a rat or a little mouse that watched tv."
Ermias, "I think mice are nocturnal."
Me, "Wow, nocturnal. Do you know what that means?"
Ermias, "It's when an animal sleeps during the day and is awake at night. They hunt for food at night. Like bats."
Me, "Good job."
Then Ermias and Isayas had their own conversation about nocturnal animals. Apparently they listen during science!!

Mornings

A little glimpse into our mornings...
