S'mores

Yesterday I helped host a Camping themed baby shower.  Of course with a theme like camping we had to have s'mores!  We did them under the broiler and they were tasty.

Ermias and I enjoyed a couple after our lunch today.  As you can tell from the photos, Ermias REALLY enjoyed his!

If it would only last...

I know that a day will come when the boys will not love going out with Waymond to do yard work. But for now, he's taking advantage of it! Isayas has been asking to try the weed-eater for ages.

Then I took the boys to the park so Waymond could actually finish the lawn! The boys' new deal is riding with one hand and standing up to pedal. They are so funny!

More Waysgoose

Here's a few more pictures of Sunday's waysgoose. I'm honestly surprised that Ermias didn't ask if he could drive the steam roller, but he didn't!

Isayas took some pictures too. Actually both boys took pictures, but Ermias took pictures of random people and I didn't think they would appreciate being featured here!

Outings

After church yesterday we strolled over to the annual waysgoose steam roller letter press event. This is the first year we've ever had kids, but I think the boys had a good time.

They tried everything at every booth. If there was something to print, stamp, or color they did it! So we came home with two of everything. Of course, Waymond was proud!

Plus there was an ice cream vendor...could the day been more perfect for them?

Lucky #13

On Tuesday we celebrated our 13th wedding anniversary. We went to Portland for a Thunder game at the end of March to celebrate.

On Tuesday Waymond tried to explain to the boys what an anniversary is. It was super funny.

He tried to explain that it was like a birthday for the day we got married. Ermias kept saying, "you are getting married again?"

However, both boys asked if we were having cup cakes! :o) They have learned that at most American celebrations there will be cake!

Skills

Ermias and Waymond built a coffee shop where Obi Wan is meeting with someone for coffee. Apparently Obi Wan also runs the coffee shop!

I wish I had stock in the Lego company! I have a feeling that our grandchildren and great grandchildren will be playing with Legos.

New Shoes

The boys got new shoes. The funny thing is, is that every shoe they've had so far have been new shoes. But, these new shoes they got to pick out themselves! Apparently that makes a huge difference! They have wanted to wear them nonstop since we bought them!

They picked out the same shoes and Ermias is so excited about it. He kept telling Isayas that he needed to go to school and tell everyone they have the same shoes! :o)

A Natural

As mentioned before we went to a parade on Saturday. Since Ermias has seen my old clarinet he was excited to get home and try it. We finally broke it out this morning and he actually can make some noise with it! Impressive!

Our first parade

Saturday we went to our first parade as a family - The annual Daffodil parade. And, to the honest I think it's one of the few parades I've seen on the side. Since I was in the band, I was usually marching in the parades. The boys enjoyed every minute of it!!

Isayas was a little freaked out with a few floats, especially if they were loud.

No candy (well the mayor had candy, but only her), instead many people handed out daffodils.

There was a random guy dressed up like spider man. Waymond commented that that's the bad thing about parades...random people can dress up like spider man or a clown and go around hugging kids! :o)

Surprisingly there were two pirate floats in the parade. This guy came right over to show Ermias his axe! One pirate ship had a cannon that was terribly loud!!

This was my favorite one. Salmon riding in a car!! Fantastic!! Too bad he could not wave!

Ermias got a little comfortable mid way through and relaxed on the curb!

Easter Eggs

Our church hosted our 2nd annual Easter Egg Hunt in a huge park in town. It was amazing! Early estimates say 2,500 people came!! Blessed to be a blessing.

The boys were super excited about it all, however it was a chilly morning and Ermias just couldn't get warm. He opted to be bundled in a blanket and hang out with Waymond greeting people. Isayas wanted to try it all.

The hunt was so well organized. This is one of the Pre K & Kindergarden hunts.

We spend our days playing pretend. Ermias' desk is all set up, ready for me to buy something from him.

Eiffel Tower

As I've mentioned previously, Isayas is really into puzzles. We've had this Eiffel Tower 3D puzzle for at least 12 years (and we are missing a piece), but Isayas loves to put it together.

After we were finished I showed him the actual Eiffel Tower on Google Earth. It blew his mind! It showed cars and people underneath the tower. He couldn't believe how big it was.

Cook Man Ermias

Ermias helped me cook last night and he found my iPod. So he was listening to Michael Jackson and stirring our soup!

While we wait

Everyday Ermias & I wait for Isayas two houses down at the bus stop. This is what Ermias is usually doing while we wait. Maybe by the end of the school year he'll get himself up in the tree.

This week is spring break, so no bus stops for us!

Pre-Anniversary

Waymond and I took a pre-anniversary trip last week. We drove to Portland to see OKC play the Trailblazers.

I've always wanted to go to an NBA game and be close enough to actually see the players. Mission accomplished. By the way, we weren't the only one's with Thunder gear on, but there were way more Sonics shirts than Thunder!
We also enjoyed some tasty wings at the best wing restaurants I've ever been too (Fire on the Mountain - try it next time you visit Portland).

Ah, to be young

Again, I realize that he's not going to think this is the best job someday. But for now he thinks he's big stuff to get to bring in the empty trash can!

Plus he gets to use the garage door opener all by himself, which is bonus for him.
