Nap time

I finally finished a bag I cut out BEFORE the boys came home from Ethiopia! I finally had a little free time while Ermias was laying down for a rest. Once he got up, I asked him to put in on so I could get a photo. Maybe he'll do some catalog work someday! :o)

Jedi Birthday

The boys had a great time this afternoon at our friend, Jackson's, birthday party. They made light-sabers out of water noodles and electrical & duct tape AND they had cake. Couldn't have had a better time!

Ermias had an amazing time playing at a friend's house playing with her cape and light-saber.

Breakfast for lunch

Me and the boys had breakfast for lunch the other day, cereal & bacon and egg (the boys still REALLY don't like cheese) english muffins. And for whatever reason, they really wanted their picture taken while eating. Isayas has been enjoying bacon, which Waymond is very excited about!!

Our boys LOVE to dance. Isayas picked out an African CD from the library and they've been enjoying it! Here's a little taste of the goodness:

Tiny tomato plants

We have a tiny tomato plant that grew from a dropped tomato last year. We got one tomato from it!!

We also had two more tomato plants grow from dropped tomatoes last year, they were growing with the carrots. We got a couple of tomatoes from these two. Crazy!

School's back on!

We heard the final word today that an agreement has been reached and the teachers are teaching tomorrow!! I know I'm excited!! When I told Isayas this afternoon, he made an unfamiliar sound that sounded like "but, I'm having so much fun at home all day." I know he'll enjoy once he gets back into a routine.

Still, no school

Since school is still out, Isayas is still doing work at home. Today we made a letter Aa book!

Going to the Island

We spent Friday evening and all day Saturday visiting some friends on Whidbey Island (north of Seattle). It was a fantastic time! They are our friends who live part of the year in Ethiopia and graciously let us stay with them in Addis Ababa two times this year!

Portland

For my birthday/anniversary (Aug 13th/April 17th) Waymond bought us tickets to see a live taping of Wait Wait don't tell me, the NPR comedy news program. I try to listen to it weekly, but get their podcast when I can't catch it.

We spent most of the day in Portland, thanks to our friend Faith who stayed with the boys! We went to Powell's bookstore, had some tasty wings and walked around downtown before the show!

Having fun

Since we've been home during the day, Isayas has been drawing! And both boys have been having fun together.

Isayas kept bringing Ermias to me saying he was my baby! So cute!!

One more day

One more day of the strike. Isayas still doesn't understand why he's not going to school, but he has enjoyed being at home and playing with friends!

Today when I had him writing the letter Aa again he wasn't too thrilled!

Wrestling

After a long day at school and work there is a lot of this going on in the evenings at our house! Although the boys are putting on weight and getting taller, Waymond is still tossing them around and wrestling.

Ermias had another great day at school today. He really likes it and according to him they eat a lot, maybe that's why he likes it!

When I ask Ermias what he did at school that day he tells me what they had for breakfast and snack. I don't get too much more; I guess I should get used to that!

First day!

Ermias had the BEST day ever! Seriously! He started off the day at his first day of school, then I picked him up and took him to Aunt Alexis' house to play and then Waymond picked him up and he got to ride his bike in the front of the house!

When I picked Ermias up at school he showed me all around and talked non-stop until we got to our next stop. He had such a good time. He has breakfast and a snack at school, and he kept telling me how much "cow's milk" he drank and how he liked it (which a pretty big thing for him).

I think Isayas had a pretty good day too. He had to go to work with me today, but he spent a lot of the day playing Waymond's video game! I did make him practice writing his letters and coloring.
