Yesterday

Here are a few pictures from yesterday. Since it's just me and Lillie at home all day I thought I'd try to take some of us. One handed pictures are so hard; these were the best...

And, just so you know she isn't happy all the time! This is her "I'm all done with this" face!

Photographers

Sunday morning Isayas got the camera and took many pictures of Ermias while I was feeding Lillie. This was the best; capturing Ermias dancing.

Zero to Three in 1.5 Years

It still seems so crazy that we have 3 kiddos now! Two Februaries ago we were gearing up for a second trip to go get the boys, and now we have two boys and a girl! God's provision and sense of humor are pretty amazing...

Swinging

Despite how her face looks, Lillie really likes her swing. And I think her brothers wish they had a swing inside.

Helping Mommy

I made some granola this afternoon. Lillie "helped" by napping while I mixed and baked. She is learning to like our Moby Wrap

Matching?

"Sometimes when my daddy dresses me, I hope we don't leave the house. I mean, I guess, the pants and the shirt both have pink in them; maybe that was what he was going for?"

Roller skating

The boys were off school on Friday. Lillie and I took them roller skating (their newest favorite past time). They skated for THREE hours! Lillie and I watch from a booth in the snack area.

I felt accomplished because I fed her there without flashing anyone and changed a couple of dirty diapers...all at that snack booth! Its not a baby friendly place.

Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day! The boys came home with a load of Valentine cards and candy. Plus they both had parties at school with loads of sugary treats. I sent herb popcorn because, frankly, I like a little savory with my sweets.

Here's a picture of the Valentine's I got. Nothing beats homemade.

3 weeks today

Today Lillie is 3 weeks old! It really has gone by so quickly (and yet painfully slow at night)!

Yesterday was my official due date, and I must say that I'm glad I'm not starting over with a new born tonight (or pushing out a 9lb baby). She is almost at the point where she can go three hours without eating. I'll take that over two hours; we are making progress!

Here's a little video of her gassy faces. She's just so cute (bias I know). Isayas loves it when she makes the "smiley" gas face. He gets so excited, "mom, she smiled at me!" I haven't burst the bubble yet for him, he doesn't know its just gas.

Trying it out

We are trying out a pacifier. Like most newborns, Lillie isn't 100% sure how she feels about it. Her parents aren't 100% sure how they feel about it either...jury is still out whether she'll keep it.

She looks so tiny in Waymond's arms!

A few new pics

Here are a few new pictures of Lillie. I think the hair directly on the top of her head is finally growing a bit. It's considerable shorter than the rest of her hair. It looks like she's going bald on top!

Going out

We bundled Lillie up the other day and took a walk to the park near our house. Since she's so small some of her socks have become leg warmers! She looked so cute.

It was nice to get out and the boys got to ride their bikes.

Hands free

When not being swaddled Lillie likes to have her hands up. I can't imagine that this is comfortable, but maybe it's how she was in the womb...she loves it. The bad part is, she still doesn't realize those hands belong to her. She often pops herself in the face and then looks distraught.

When swaddled, she likes to work really hard to get her hands free. We've been calling her Houdini, because she is amazing at it. Can you see her hand to the right? Sooner or later both hands are at least peeking out the top of her swaddle blankets and this one is a good Velcro one.

Big brother

Isayas is way more into Lillie than Ermias. Isayas loves to talk with her and try to get her to stop crying. However, he talks to her like she is hard of hearing. I usually have to tell him that he doesn't have to talk so loud. I don't know if he thinks that if he talks louder she'll understand? Maybe they experienced that when they were first home!

He will often read to her as well. When she was on the light bed for the jaundice Isayas read to her a book about Star Wars. He said to me, "mom can you turn her head so she can see the pictures while I read?" I tried to explain to him that she couldn't see the pictures and would probably get mad if I turned her head. I told him, "she will just enjoy the sound of your voice." And, that was good enough for him!

Ermias acknowledges her existence and then moves on. He does think it's cool that she has such a strong grip and can pull his finger around. I think he's had less experience with babies; he was the baby in both of his families until now! That's tough on a kid, but he's handling it well!

Daddy time

Lillie is going to miss her dad during the day when he goes back to work! Who is she going to lay around on to soak up warmth?

First Bath

Lillie had her first bath the other day, and she did not like it! It could have been the fact that her parents had never given an infant a bath before and they are just bad at it. Not sure.

I love a good bath, so I'm hoping that we either get better or she starts enjoying herself. We'll be trying again tomorrow.

In the end she didn't mind the drying off part with a warm towel.
