2nd Day

So, our piles of boxes are beginning to wane and our house is slowing coming together. As we were moving Waymond made the comment to one of the guys helping that we have books and kitchen stuff and that is no lie! I think if we have a 3 category it would be music. I think everything we own falls into one of the 3 category. Enjoy some befores of the downstairs and hopefully soon we'll have some afters!

Oh the boxes

I think almost everything has found it way into a box. We do not have any more space for boxes. It's nice to know we aren't moving 1900 miles, but just across town, so if I forget something I can come back for it. The move is planned for Saturday and our Realtor came by my office today and gave me the keys to the house!!! The carpets are being cleaned in the morning. I think I'm more excited about that than anything. I'm not sure why.

It's Offical

We are the proud owners of a house in Tacoma!! We should get keys tomorrow. We (and I say that loosely because Waymond has been busy doing homework to pack) have most everything packed. Our friend Malena is coming tomorrow to help pack the rest of the kitchen.

A huge thanks to everyone at New Community for helping with this move! From packing to boxes to newspaper, everyone has put a helping hand in and I have greatly felt helped!! And, a thanks in advance for all the help that will come on Saturday when the boxes are full and need to be moved to the new house! You guys are great.

Night of Prayer & Worship

Our church, New Community Church, had our first night of prayer & worship. With all of the changes and things going on we moved our usual Tuesday night of prayer to once of month. We had a great night of prayer and worship. Here's a little picture of the guys leading worship. We had an electric guitar, a bass & a drum kit! We are high class!!

We have some young players at our church! We thought we should start them early on the worship team!

Our House

So, Here are a few pictures of the house. I'll have more once we actually get to move in this next week!

Yeah

We did our initial signing this afternoon. It's looking like we are going to officially close on Tuesday (due to President's Day on Monday) and get the keys to our new house! I'll get some outside pictures this weekend! It was funny because, as those who have bought a house before know, you sign a crazy amount of papers when you buy a house. One of the papers we signed showed us exactly how much we will pay for the house if we pay our minimum monthly payment every month for the entire time of the loan! Ouch!! The lady at the Title Company said, you never know, in 30 years your house may be worth that much! Hopefully!

Kudos to our Realtor (Zach) & Mortgage Broker (Mel)! They both have been excellent and have kept us up to date by answering our questions before we had to ask and have organized everything for us! Thanks guys. If you are looking to buy, sell or refinance anytime soon, it would do you good to at least meet with one or both of these guys. Just ask us, we'd be happy to pass on their info!

Carrot Cake

If you are in the Tacoma area and want the best carrot cake you've ever tasted stop by Cornia's Bakery at 6th & Tacoma. Amazing! I have to fight myself after dinner to not walk down and get a piece.

The House

So, it looks like we should be closing on the house before February 22nd. When I can I'll get some pictures taken of the place. It's really nice. We are going to have a ton of storage space, but not much to store.

Ribs

We are trying a new Crock-Pot recipe this week for ribs. Our hopes aren't too high, but I thought we'd at least give it a try. I'll keep you up to date!!

We miss BBQ.

Oh yet again

So, I know I haven't blogged in awhile, we've been a bit busy. It looks like the house is going through, but we are waiting on the underwriters to tell us if they need any more information before they approve us officially for our loan.

We started packing this weekend. It's a bit hard because we aren't exactly sure when it will all go through and we'll actually move. We have to be out of our apartment by the end of February, so hopefully we won't find ourselves homeless for a few days or weeks.

So far we have boxes in the hallway and I'm not sure where we'll put the next round!
