To the mountain

The last day of our staycation we went up to Mt. Rainier.
A little relaxation before our hike.

As we got higher on the mountain more clothes were put on!
I think it was in the 50's.
Both boys found walking sticks to help them along.
Surprisingly Ermias brought up the tail on our last hike; his legs were tired.
We live in a beautiful part of the world!!

A reader

Lillie loves books and we've been checking new ones out of the library often.
Surprisingly she doesn't try to put them in her mouth (like everything else).

Staycation

We are having a bit of a staycation and today we went to NW trek (like a zoo with local animals).

I didn't get a picture of it, but the boys got to see a real live wolverine; they were excited.

I had no idea

So, we've been growing corn and now we are harvesting them. Isayas picked this one and it wasn't all the way ready. I saved it because I had no idea how corn actually grows. It seems like each kernel is a flower first...crazy and interesting!

Sweet Potatoes

Well, we might have a winner for solid foods. She did help this time, but she ate more sweet potatoes today than she has any other food (we've tried rice cereal, carrots & pumpkin). And, she had a smile while eating.
She also likes to eat her bib in between bites of food. In fact, I think she is more interested in the bib than the food, but the sweet potatoes held her interest the most.

The fire station

We did a tour of a local fire station this last week.
The boys had a great time!
The station is one of the few remaining with a pole.
They gave us a demo,
however the boys didn't get to go down.

7 months

This little girl is 7 months today!
She is sitting up like a pro; has one tooth (and one on the way);
and loves to put everything in her mouth (still)!
However, she is not a lover of solid food, yet. She is the daughter of Waymond
so I'm guessing there is a love for tasty food in there somewhere.

Corn

Our corn is actually growing! The boys picked one each and had them with dinner tonight. Isayas wants to grow corn every year.

today

Waymond stopped by at lunch and took this.

Happy birthday to me

Today is my birthday! The boys have been helping me clean the house (just for the love of their Mom, not to earn time) and playing with their sister. She learned more about Star Wars this morning; a little light-saber training (or chewing)!

Milestone

We experienced a milestone on Friday morning; Lillie used a highchair at a restaurant! And Saturday, she rode in the front of the cart at CostCo. She had a fun time looking at everyone and everything. She smiled at everyone who talked to her.

A tooth!!

Yesterday Lillie's first tooth broke through! I think she might be working on the next one because her nose is still runny and she is chomping on everything.

New baby

We got Lillie her first baby doll and she really likes it.

Month #2

The boys read for their 2nd month and picked out the biggest donuts they could find...Whatever it takes to get them reading during the summer, right?

Happy Birthday Isayas

Today he is 8 years old and we went roller skating!
Grandma Connie made him and R2D2 cake.

I think all the boys at the party are going to be sore tomorrow. They spent a fair amount of time falling, but they had such a good time!

Summer school

Ermias' last day of summer school was this week and to celebrate the class sang a song and we all had cake. Their theme this summer was Reach for the Stars and they learned about stars and planets. I was really impressed with what Ermias learned. He would often impress us at dinner, "Mom, did you know the sun is a star?" He had fun and made a lot of new friends!
And, just like her brother Ermias, Lillie makes friends wherever she goes! This little guy is 5 months old. They hung out while their big brothers were having cake. She enjoyed listening to the ladies talk to her. One of the many reasons I love Tacoma!
