Carrots!

 Day one, so hopeful...

Day two...
We've tried carrots twice and I think she is not a fan of the texture!

New talents

Here's a little sample of Lillie's new talent.

Future Orange Tree

Ermias planted an orange seed several weeks ago. We all thought it wasn't going to grow, but apparently orange seeds have a long germination. Can you see his tiny plant growing in the pot?

Dinner Time

Tonight for dinner Lillie enjoyed chewing on Ermias' finger, mmmmm. They both were a slobbery mess!!

Video Game time

If left to themselves our boys would watch tv and play video games all day (and probably night) long. Last summer the boys had to read books to earn time to play their video games. This summer I've changed it up some; I have a ring of chores they can do and each one earns them 30 minutes of video game time. I'm pretty sure our house and vehicles won't be any more clean than this summer!
 Isayas vacuuming the livingroom...
and dusting the bookshelf.

Already this summer (this is the first week) our van has been vacuumed out two times and our garden has been watered everyday, among other things!

It has been quite a learning experience for them. When Isayas got the vacuum out he said, "Can you pick up the books and stuff off the floor so I can vacuum?" I explained that picking up the floor is part of vacuuming. He answered, "What? This is harder than I thought."

The boys are working hard because Waymond just ordered Mario Kart for the Wii with some birthday money; along with a 3rd Wii remote. The boys are saving their time for when it gets here. Isayas asks everyday if it is coming in the mail and is stalking the mail lady.

Summer vacation

We've had a few nice sunny days that we went to our newly remodeled park to enjoy. Lillie enjoyed watching all the kids run past.

The boys made blueberry muffins for our Community Group. They didn't like them because there is a cream cheese filling, but Waymond might have them make them again just for him.

The boys got a bag of Legos this morning to make something. This is Ermias' car and silly face! Our kids are so creative!!

Isayas spread out all his pieces before he figured out what to build.

And there is a lot of reading going on!!

The giraffe

Apparently thousands of kids can't be wrong and Lillie agrees; Sophie the giraffe is a winner! The poor giraffe has really been taking a beating lately. She has been really biting on the head and legs. This is what she does while we are having dinner (when she isn't watching her brothers). We aren't sure if she is teething or not, but she is working that giraffe on her gums.

My how she's grown

Same tub...
June 8th

January 29th

5 months

I'm just a couple of days behind on this, but on the 18th Lillie was officially 5 months old! She is getting so big and wants to sit up all the time. She has yet to roll over so we've been trying to give her more tummy time. Most moms I know say, "don't rush it, it's nice that she isn't mobile yet!" I think I agree!!
 Just born...

3 months...

 5 months.
I think this will be the last time we do this pose. She REALLY didn't want to be held like this.

One week old...

 3 months...

5 months.

She is in love with her giraffe. The boys think it's hilarious that she eats on the head and squeezes the neck. They tell her how strong she is and that she's killing the giraffe.

Tummy time w/ bro

Lillie enjoyed some extra long tummy time with Isayas. I got them set up in front of the open door and they watched Ermias play soccer and Waymond mow the lawn. And, Lille watched Isayas.

1st Grade humor

This is what Iasyas has learned in 1st grade; he thinks it's the coolest thing ever. "Look Mom, I can make my eyes all white." Should be a fun summer!

A few favorites

Just a few of my favorite pics from this last week.

Splashing around

When Lillie takes a bath the whole bathroom gets cleaned; the mirror, the counters and the floor! I'm surprised she has any water left in her tub at the end.

Artist

Ermias made "Grandpa David's gun" out of paper! It's very impressive; it has a lot of details like a trigger and sight thing. I might need to restock our construction paper before summer is over!

Graduation

Ermias had his Kindergarten graduation Tuesday! He was nervous and wouldn't look over at us very much. He looked so handsome in his plaid shirt!

Isayas got to get out of class early and join us. Lillie was super interested in all the kids and their families!

Almost there!

Mobility is within Lillie's grasp, and I'm a bit frightened! She will be on the move sooner than later, I'm guessing. Thankfully the boys will be home all summer to follow her around! Or for her to follow.

Here's a video I took this morning. She's so close to rolling over. If she could get her arm out of the way...and if her mom would take off those stinking leg warmers!

Ermias' song

Ermias broke into song a couple of nights ago (happens pretty often actually) about Lillie going to his school field trip. It went on and on from there. We think he is the next Bob Dylan!

3D art

Ermias is really into making 3D art lately. This is his house with a car out front. Earlier in the week he made a camera, a worm, and a bird. I'm going to need to restock our tape soon!
