Birthday party

We celebrated Ermias birthday with a little party with his friends, Lego style.
 Chocolate birthday cake with Mini-figures
Waymond spent 30 minutes getting 700 Legos in the jar. Isayas actually guessed closest.
Everyone built their own cars and then we raced and jumped them.
Then we shot down Mini-figures with Nerf guns. Good birthday fun!

the kids

Lillie tries to be everywhere her brothers are. They were off school Monday and Tuesday this week and Lillie was loving having them around. She would try to play with what they had, but if they didn't let her (like their Lego mini-figures that are too small) she would just get a toy from her stash and rejoin them. They like her being around too!

Happy Birthday Ermias

We celebrated Ermias' Seventh birthday today!
After dinner we had an ice cream cake with just our family.
The morning started off with a breakfast treat of cinnamon rolls!
The big birthday boy, still in his PJs.
He got to slowly open his presents today. The first one right when he got up, then another after breakfast, another right before lunch, and then the rest when Waymond got home from work.
The day ended with he and Isayas playing his new NBA Wii game.
We will celebrate again with his friends on Saturday with a Lego party at our house.

Sweetest thing

Ermias brought this home this week from school; My Hero, my Mom. The sweetest thing ever! It says (with spelling corrections), "You do nice stuff and you are respectful and you help me do my homework." He said, "I wasn't sure how do draw your hair or what color to make it." Funny boy!
I've got great kids!!

Just thought I would repost this video from when Lillie was four days old and in her light bed from jaundice.

It's crazy, but a year later and Ermias is wearing the clothes that Isayas has on in this video, but is about to outgrow them! They are growing so fast.

Eating cake

I am one of "those" moms who don't want her kids to have sugar until they are at least two. I know, I know...but I am. SO, Lillie enjoyed a tasty cake (even Waymond thought it was really good) made from bananas, apple sauce, whole wheat flour (her first), cinnamon, vanilla and baking soda.
She enjoyed herself and when she was done she had eaten quite a bit. Granted there was a lot on the floor, but more than I thought made it to her mouth!
Her expression while we were singing to her was priceless! It will be fun to watch this video with her when she is older.

Happy Birthday Lillie

Lillie is officially ONE! What a fun day.
She spent a lot of time with her Daddy and brothers going for a little walk to the park.
We had a little party with a few friends.
She enjoyed some cake (there will be a video posted soon)
 She opened a few gifts.
 Got the cutest scarf imaginable.
And put everything in her mouth that she could.
At the end of the day she was so tired; she went to bed 15 minutes early. I tried to keep her up to her usually bedtime, but she was so tired. We just called it a day!
Happy Birthday sweet little girl!

Turning One

I can hardly believe it, but Lillie will be a year old tomorrow!! Everyone says it goes by fast, but wow! Here is a video I shot a couple of days ago. She is such a determined little girl who knows what she wants. She talks and talks all day to me, but still no English words except Hi, Momma, Dada, Bubba, Teeth (I need to get this one on video), and Duck. We think she's starting to say All Done (instead of signing it), but we aren't too sure.

This last year has gone by in a flash. She has five teeth and one on the way (although Isayas swears he sees six teeth), crawls like a pro, wants to walk (with help) everywhere, but is getting braver to let go, she points at EVERYTHING and would like to touch everything she sees if she could. She loves her Dada and Bubbas and would like to spend all her days on the floor with them. She is still putting everything in her mouth; she is a little vacuum cleaner. She loves other babies and kids (picking up her Bubbas from school is a delight to her, if she could just touch all the kids). She is a fun little girl!

You know you have found a way into her heart when she wrinkles up her nose, squints her eyes and flashes a big smile with all her teeth showing and you get the finger point. I wish I could video her all the time, but most times by the time I get the camera she has moved on. What a year! The whole family is happily exhausted!!

Let the feeding begin

Lillie is starting to master the art of feeding herself. It's messy, but she is actually getting stuff into her mouth. Now when she eats, she is not content with only me feeding her. She has to have some food in front of her to put in her mouth; pieces of banana, peas, pumpkin something to squish and eat. Our next adventure will be a spoon for her! I'm not sure I'm ready to clean up the mess that will be flung from her spoon!
