Exit through the gift shop

We met some friends at The Grand yesterday and we saw Exit Through the Gift Shop a movie about street art (or actually about the guy who was filming the street art). Excellent movie. Check it out if its in your area. And, if you live in the greater Tacoma area go see it at The Grand. You can check out the trailer here.

Date Night

Tonight we went to see the Maltese Falcon at The Grand theater. They had a special showing and I think it was because its the Tacoma Reads book. We shared a GIGANTIC tub of popcorn and a soda. It was so good to see the movie on the big screen. Good times! Everyone keeps telling us to get out as much as we can while we are childless and don't have to find babysitters.

The end

Some friends and us had a season finale gathering to watch the very last episode of LOST. I found some Dharma labels online and we printed a few and made some Oceanic luggage tags and lotto tickets. We also had a friend decorate us a cake for the event. I finally found some things at the dollar store to put on the cake. We had a good time hanging out but I think we all were a little disappointed at how they decided to wrap it all up! It was such a good show that had seemingly non-eventful ending. Yesterday I watched the Jimmy Kimble Show that the cast was on and it actually made me feel a little better about the whole thing. I'm just going to go with his theory on the show and move on! The cake was amazing!

More planting

We planted a few more things in our garden today. We started the day heading down to Lakewood to pick up raspberry plants from a lady who posted on Craigslist. We picked up 12 of them! While in Lakewood we went by Panera for a bagel and coffee, mmmmm. Then it was off to the Farmer's Market in Tacoma. After running into a few friends we bought our plants (cucumbers, onions, tomatoes, peppers, pole beans, bush beans). Then we picked up a few seeds (beets, more onions & radish). We came home and planted them all. A very satisfying day!

My green thumb

So, every Christmas my boss buys a couple of poinsettias for our office. Here's a shot of the one I've been watering every other Friday since the first of December. Not the greatest picture, but the point is...it's still alive and kicking. And, I'm not lying, it has new growth, new leaves. I've never seen a poinsettias grow, I've just seen them die. I took this picture on my phone as I was leaving work today. I must say I'm pretty proud it's alive (and growing). My Dad would be proud of my green thumb! But really, all I've done is water it once every other Friday (and pull the dead leaves off). I wonder how long it will last. Crazy!

Frightened Rabbit

Here's a shot from my phone, not too bad.

Lately

So, I know I've not blogged in a bit and I'm sorry. Busy, busy, busy and I haven't brought my camera along! We did bring the camera to the Frightened Rabbit show on Sunday night. Sadly I think it's the latest I've been up in a REALLY long time! We got to bed at 1am and both of us got up for work the next day. Thanks to coffee we both made it through Monday!

Moms

Here's to all those Moms out there that have suffered through years of cold coffee, interrupted conversations and interrupted thoughts! I guess that is why there was always a mug of coffee in our microwave growing up! :o)

Happy Earth Day

Here's to Earth Day!
This was on my 30 Rock calendar today. And, yes I do feel that way about styrofoam.

Cutest

I'm hoping my sister-in-law doesn't mind me posting these, but they are just so darn cute. It's my youngest brother and his family. He and his wife just celebrated 10 years of marriage on the 15th!
I think my uncle took both pictures, but my sister-in-law could have taken the one of just my niece. Is she not the cutest!! We have some amazing photographer's in our family!

Good News

Before heading off on our anniversary weekend we stopped by the post office and mailed our Dossier to the adoption agency!! We are that much closer to finding & getting our child(ren)!!!
Thanks for all the prayers! Continue praying that all the paperwork would come together quickly and that the Ethiopian Government approves us soon!

Our anniversary

Happy Eleven Years (April 17th, I'm a couple days late). Here's a few photos of our weekend staying in downtown Tacoma.
