Correction
So, I need to make a correction on my last blog posting. I stated that if you live in the Tacoma area you are paying $3.40(ish) in gas. Upon filling my gas tank yesterday at Cost-co I paid $3.43, I think and that's the cheapest in town. I drove by a Shell station that was $3.68 a gallon! I'm thankful that I live only a few blocks from where I work.

Another movie option
If you live in the Tacoma area and your funds are going to important things like $3.40(ish) a gallon gas you have to check out the $2 movie theater in Federal Way. Its not the cleanest or most smell good theater, but all the movies are $2 and starting in July all movies are a dollar on Tuesdays, according to their website. For two people its cheaper to see a movie there than to rent a movie and sometimes a girl needs to get out of the house!

Movie
I don't recommend movies very often because you just never know a persons particulars HOWEVER, Waymond and I rented Lars and the Real Girl this last week and I think people should rent it. It was a funny, touching, quality film. We laughed out loud and were sad in a few spots. Quality movie, it really is worth the rent. I think it will reassure everyone that your family is not more crazy than everyone else's.

Spring?
The building is an apartment/office space/ coffee shop in downtown Tacoma. It's a really cool building.
Oh, gray sky I will miss you while you are gone this summer, but I cannot miss you if you don't go away!
Jeny
Our friend Jeny moved in on Wednesday. I think her bedroom at our house is as big as her studio apartment. At least she fit everything in it except for one bookshelf, pretty good. I think her mom is excited she isn't living alone anymore! Hi Tinker, we'll keep an eye out for Jeny for you!
More of the house
With some help of several family members we purchased a dinning room table and sideboard. Before a few weeks ago I had no idea what a sideboard was. IKEA is so affordable and they have really cute things! However, you have to put everything together. Waymond freaked out when he opened the box(es) to the sideboard. There were so many pieces it was unreal. But, Waymond has some skills and the table and sideboard are beautiful! We've already had several rounds of friends eating at our table. We even played Simpson's Clue on it the other night.
The finished product! We bought curtains for the dinning room too. Waymond picked out the green. It looks pretty good.
Our friends Deb & Donovan bought us the Orchid. I looks good on the table, but I'm afraid I'm already killing it! I need to do some research on how to keep it alive. I must admit I don't have the greenest thumb, but I try! I've moved it to the kitchen window.

The Living Room
I forgot one of the important details about the living room, it's painted gray! I think it could be darker, but gray none the less!
Waymond's hanging pictures. Slowly we'll get it together. As soon as we get the guest bed up, we'll be ready for our friends to come visit!!

Our house
Here are a few more pics. I'm thinking we'll move things around again, but for now. This is the living room.

Back of house
This is the back of our house. Look how green that lawn is. Waymond is going to have many more months of lawn growth to deal with here. It's not like in KC where it would turn brown well into summer and into winter.
Rain vs. Showers in Snow terms
So, a friend at work today was telling me that her boyfriends works with several Canadians via phone and apparently they have several terms for snow. Not sure what they could be, but I'll find out. Who knew!
I think the forecast today was all rain. Not very creative.

Waymond's favorites
Waymond has a few favorite things about our new house (and some other not favorites). His first favorite is our dishwasher. Our dishwasher in our apartment was so shallow. It hardly fit any tall cups or dishes. It was sad. However, our new dishwasher is so deep it fits this huge pot on the top shelf. Waymond is completely thrilled about this. All his traveler coffee cups fit on the top shelf without having to angle them sideways.
Happy Trails.
When I was in the 6th grade band
This evening I took the opportunity to go to hear our friend's daughter's school band concert. The band consisted of 5th - 8th graders, I believe. It was pure entertainment. I remember being in the 6th grade band and thinking we were good or at least getting better. I must say a Thanks to my parents who faithfully went to all my concerts & parades even while we sounded so bad and they never said we were off beat or out of sync or out of key or playing the wrong song.
I'm not saying that our friend's daughter's band was terrible; however it brought back many memories of 6th grade band! Oh, the patients of band teachers. They spend years in college getting a degree and honing their musical skills picking up multi instruments and then try to teach 6th graders how to sound good. They deserve a gold metal and a musical genius in every class!!
Good job Paloma!!

Rain vs Showers
Did you know that in the NorthWest Rain and Showers mean completely different things? Crazy, I know. I've lived here 1 year and 8 months and haven't figured out the difference, but according to all the weather people on the news, there is a difference. Rain in the morning and afternoon showers. Can't you just say it's going to rain all day!!

2nd Day
So, our piles of boxes are beginning to wane and our house is slowing coming together. As we were moving Waymond made the comment to one of the guys helping that we have books and kitchen stuff and that is no lie! I think if we have a 3 category it would be music. I think everything we own falls into one of the 3 category. Enjoy some befores of the downstairs and hopefully soon we'll have some afters!

Oh the boxes
I think almost everything has found it way into a box. We do not have any more space for boxes. It's nice to know we aren't moving 1900 miles, but just across town, so if I forget something I can come back for it. The move is planned for Saturday and our Realtor came by my office today and gave me the keys to the house!!! The carpets are being cleaned in the morning. I think I'm more excited about that than anything. I'm not sure why.
